Chemical Anchor CA1400

A two-component, styrene-free anchoring resin for threaded rods, studs and reinforcing bars in suitable solid or hollow mineral substrates. Loads depend on the base material, hole geometry, installation and applicable design evidence.

Product description

Typical uses

Anchoring threaded rods, studs, reinforcing bars and profiles in suitable concrete, masonry and hollow units, including work close to edges where the documented system permits.

Designing the fixing

The “up to 1,400 kg” range name highlights its performance. Select the design load using the base material, anchor diameter, embedment, edge distance, spacing, hole cleaning, temperature, cure time and applicable project information.

Preparation and applicationFollow the product instructions step by step.

Use the guidance and documents for your chosen product. Contact us if the English TDS or SDS you need is not listed below.

  1. 01

Confirm the base material, anchor size, embedment, edge distance, spacing and load against the current technical data and any project-specific design evidence.

  2. 02

Drill the hole to the specified diameter and depth using the drilling method stated for the base material.

  3. 03

Clean the hole thoroughly using the blow, brush and blow sequence given in the technical data sheet. Residual dust is a common cause of reduced load capacity.

  4. 04

Fit a new static mixer, discard resin until the colour is even, then inject from the base of the hole upwards so no air is trapped. Use an extension and a sieve sleeve where the substrate requires one.

  5. 05

Insert the clean rod or bar with a slow twisting motion within the stated working time, then leave the anchor undisturbed and unloaded for the full curing time stated for the material temperature.

For the best resultMatch the product to the materials and application.

These practical points help you achieve a reliable result.

  • Load capacity depends on the base material, hole geometry, embedment, edge distance, spacing and installation quality, not on the product alone.
  • Working and curing times vary with base-material temperature. Allow the longer times stated for cold or damp conditions.
  • For structural, overhead, seismic or fire-exposed fixings, use the anchor only within a designed and documented fixing system.
  • For the best result, follow the current technical and safety information for the selected product.
  • For unfamiliar materials, coatings or site conditions, test adhesion and compatibility on the prepared surface first.
