Passive fire protection

Fire resistance comes from the complete system, not the product alone. The wall or floor, opening, backing, seal depth and orientation all matter.

Passive-fire service penetration with fire-resistant foam, blocks and insulated services
A passive-fire service penetration combining fire-resistant foam with suitable backing and construction details.

Product selection

Choose the right product for the job.

Choose the fire-resistant silicone, hybrid sealant or PU foam from a suitable tested system, then install it with the backing and other materials shown in the report.

  • Start with the required fire rating and test standard
  • Check that the wall or floor and opening size match the tested system
  • Keep the latest test report and installation detail in the project records

Use the current report as the installation guide and follow any additional project requirements.
